It may look like spring in Boston or New York, but here in the mountains of Vermont, it’s still winter, and there’s still plenty of excellent skiing ahead this month at Stratton, as well as special events planned for all age groups.
Here’s what awaits you at Stratton Mountain this March:
March 6th: Red Bull Slide-In Tour: Come meet Red Bull athletes Zeb Powell, Jesse Augustinus and Sean Neary. (Don’t know their names? Just ask your kids.) Join the pros as they rip laps in the park and then hang out at Grizzly’s for an après-ski party, hosted by Red Bull.
March 7th: Ski for MS Vertical Challenge: This national fundraising event is taking place at seven mountains across the country, with Stratton participating for the first time. Enjoy a great day of skiing for a good cause.
Also on March 7th: First Run Demo 20/21 Product Preview: Thinking about new equipment? Head to First Run Ski Shop to test next year’s skis from top brands. Manufacturer reps and First Run staff will be on hand to answer all your questions.
March 7th & 21st: Kids Night Out: Moms and dads can enjoy some time alone. For $50, you can drop the kids off at the Mill House where they will participate in a craft, and enjoy open ice skating followed by pizza & drink. Available to kids 7-12 years old. Limited to 20, so book early!
March 13-15: The Vermont Open: An event designed FOR snowboarders, BY snowboarders. Participants can register for the Roots Package to be entered into the Rail Jam, Retro Pipe, All Snow, and the new two-day Banked Slalom. Alternatively, participants can register for particular events individually, space permitting.
March 13th: A Day for Jake: A memorial from the entire snowboard community for a global ride day to celebrate the legacy of Jake Burton Carpenter. (Free lift tickets are already allocated, but anyone is welcome to join the community to celebrate the sport on this special day.)
March 14th: Silent Disco: Join the crowd at Grizzly’s on Saturday night, 8-10pm. Three DJ’s will be spinning different tunes and you will receive a headset to switch music as you like and dance the night away. Family friendly, and late night Grizzly’s menu available. All ages welcome. $10.
March 18-20: Stratton Women’s Camp: If you are a woman who wants to improve your skill on the slopes or a beginner hoping to take it up a notch, sign up! The multi-day Women On snoW (WOW) camps and Girls Time Out is designed to supercharge your skiing and snowboarding skills. Increase your confidence in a supportive, fun environment with other like-minded women. Coached by Stratton’s top women instructors, you will experience the ultimate in personalized coaching, camaraderie, fitness and fun.
March 21–22: 24 Hours of Stratton: Experience skiing Stratton under the stars! This one-of-a-kind annual fundraiser benefits Vermont children in need and offers the opportunity to ski or ride around the clock as Stratton lights its trails for a most magical weekend of the season. This family-friendly, ski & ride party puts the fun in fundraising with live music, spectator events, fireworks, good food and great times. Online registration will close one day prior to the event.
March 21st: Stratton Mountain School Summit Film Series: The season winds down as the series concludes with a Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Saturday (7-9 pm). Experience the adrenaline of kayaking the wildest rivers. Climb the highest peaks. And trek across the globe with adventure films from around the world. You’ll experience the Earth’s beauty as well as discover the challenges facing our planet and the communities working to protect it.
March 28th: Spring Fling & Pond Skim: Come to Stratton to say farewell to a wonderful season of skiing & boarding (12 pm – 2pm). Then join your friends for Marchdi Gras Village Winterfest (3-6pm) with food, drinks and live music!
It was a great ski season. But even though you hang up your skis until next year, don’t forget that Stratton has plans for special events all summer long. Come visit with your hiking boots or mountain bikes to enjoy a different side of Stratton.
