Morrisville’s Bee’s Knees restaurant is back in business after the community got together to support owner Sharon Dietz when she needed a new kitchen and more seating – but didn’t have the money to do either. People gave their time, talent, and treasure to make sure the restaurant re-opened New Year’s Eve, said the Stowe Reporter. Deitz also tapped into private funds and donations to raise $100,000 for the project in addition to the community support. Community members were responsible for convincing Deitz not to sell the restaurant by suggesting other revenue-raising venues. “The community support has given me the confidence to invest in the building,” Deitz said last February. “It shows how people feel this place is theirs and how committed they are to keeping it here.” It’s now the place to be for food, music, and friends, along with the new kitchen and triple the seating capacity. Now everybody can count on a buzz.
