Larry and Lois Rouleau have been helping people in the Bennington area, making it their way of life for 50 years, says the Bennington Banner. Their home is full of memories of people and events gone by. Their home is also full of items they’ve collected for an upcoming community tag sale. The Rouleaus are the couple that neighbors and strangers can count on to help them with help furnishing an apartment, a ride to the store, shoveling driveways, sending get-well cards to people – the list is endless. “We were brought up to help people,” says Larry. They’ve organized Neighborhood Watches and a Community Association to make the neighborhood safe from drugs and to give kids something positive to do and take pride in.” Now, both in their 80s, they say they need more help, more people to be involved. If anyone needs role models, they don’t have to look further than the Rouleaus.
