Burlington Free Press District Sales Manager Jeremy Day was recently honored at Gannett corporate headquarters in Virginia, says the Press., for saving the life of a newspaper carrier who was having a heart attack in her car. Day went to the woman’s location after she called in sick, not knowing she was actually having a heart attack. He called 911 and stayed with her until the ambulance arrived. He was credited by both the carrier and doctor as having saved the woman’s life. “Jeremy goes above and beyond his life on a daily basis. He is recognized by others for his outstanding work ethic,” said the person who nominated Day for the Unsung Hero Award. He was selected from among 100 nominations and received $1,000.
