FUN, PRE-HOLIDAY EVENING IN WATERBUY PLANNED

by Craig Altschul

Mark your calendar to hang out in Waterbury Friday, Dec. 9 for a night of fun and then hang around to ski or ride at nearby Bolton Valley Saturday on Opening Day of the new ski season. The SD Ireland Cement Mixer will be all decked out in holiday lights and will drive Santa Claus into downtown at 5 p.m. Be sure to join with residents and other visitors to line Main Street to greet the jolly old boy as he travels to the Green Mountain Coffee Visitor Center and Café at the historic Waterbury train station. There, kids can personally greet Santa and climb onto the mixer. Free hot chocolate for the kids and coffee for mom and dad will be served. Waterbury restaurants and restaurants will remain open for holiday shopping. Opening day at Bolton includes skiing and riding and sampling Vermont foods. Santa will make his way to the ski resort by 4:30 p.m. to lead the tree lighting ceremony
