Wow, it is hard to believe that the the Perfect Wife Restaurant in Manchester, VT, will be celebrating their 20th anniversary this December. Come and help chef-owner and operator, Amy Chamberlain, celebrate this wonderful occasion with a week of special events.
The festivities kick off on Tuesday, Dec. 6, with a Wing Sauce Competition and Long Trail Tap Take Over. Think your wing sauce is the best? Whip up a quart of your famous sauce and deliver to Amy by 3:00 pm on Dec. 6th to enter the competition. If you are lucky enough to have your sauce voted the winner, it will be featured on the Tuesday Wing Night menu in 2017. Of course, nothing goes better with wings than a cold Long Trail, on tap on the 6th to help with the celebration.
Wednesday, Dec. 7th, is the Mug Club Appreciation Night and “That’s What She Said” 2017 Blend 
Party. Every year chef/owner Amy gets to choose what beers get blended together for her proprietary Long Trail “That’s What She Said” beer. Well this year—Long Trail will come to The Perfect Wife so you can take part in determining the custom blend. The best blend will be named the new “That’s What She Said” beer. In addition, there will be a $20 all-you-can-eat buffet of beer-inspired food. ($15 for Mug Club members.)
Dec. 8th is Throw Back Thursday. The Perfect Wife is bringing back their original menu from 20 years ago. With original prices! Turkey Schnitzel for $11.50, Filet Mignon for $16.50 and Black Bean and Vermont Cheddar Quesadilla for $5.50 are just some of the offerings from the original menu. Upstairs in the Tavern they are bringing back $8 Burger Night. Think you know everything about the Perfect Wife? All night long in both the dining room and the tavern you can test your knowledge on the 20 year history of the restaurant. Fill out the questionnaire and give it to your server. You will be graded on the spot, and, if you get a perfect score, you get to pick a prize from the swag bag.
Friday, Dec. 9th, continues with the celebration of two events, The dining room will be hosting a Roaring 20s Party. Enjoy period cocktails from the 20s with Whistle Pig Rye Whiskey, delicious wines from 802 Distributors, and hors d’oeuvres all night long. Period dress is encouraged, so dust off those wingtips and shake out your flapper dress. The party kicks off at 7:00 pm and continues until 9:00. The price is $49 per person, all inclusive.
Upstairs in the Tavern, Zero Gravity Brewery and Citizen Cider take over the taps. Starting at 5:00 pm, these beer and cider sponsors will be pouring drinks, handing out swag, and answering your questions about their processes and products. There will also be a completely fresh, one-night-only menu designed to showcase the art of each. Dana Massive will be there providing music starting at 10.00 pm. The party continues until 1:00 am.
The festivities come to a close on Saturday, Dec. 10 with a special anniversary dinner. 20 years ago when The Perfect Wife opened, “The Big Night” opened in theaters. This, then, becomes the theme for the final celebration with a fabulous, multi-course Italian dinner as well as authentic Italian serenade from opera Singer, Anya Matanovic. The celebration begins promptly at 6:30 pm. Come and raise your glass and celebrate 20 years of The Perfect Wife.
