HGTV’S DREAM HOME IS REALITY IN STOWE

by Craig Altschul

Stowe’s Spruce Peak has been selected as the location for Home and Garden Television’s 15th anniversary dream home, says Lamoille County’s News & Citizen. The 2011 Dream Home will have 3 bedrooms, a guest bedroom, and a dorm-like children’s bedroom, in addition to 3.5 bathrooms, large kitchen, 2 large family/living rooms, and several outdoor porches/patios that look out over the mountains. The construction costs of the house are estimated to be $800,000, according to the architect Paul Rousselle of Stowe. “I wanted to make this house a celebration of Stowe and what Stowe is about,” says Rousselle. The Dream Home will be given away to some lucky winner during a nationwide sweepstakes. “The HGTV Dream Home is the first for Vermont, and we intend to show the features that make this location so amazing,” says HGTV Dream Home Planner Jack Thomasson. Construction is scheduled for completion no later than Oct. 15 of this year. Don’t forget to enter for your chance at winning.
