Medicine Buddha Empowerment and Retreat

The Inn At Willow Pond in Manchester, VT will be hosting a Medicine Buddha Public Talk and Retreat with Anyen Rinpoche from May 12-May 15.

anyenOn Thursday, May 12 come and hear Anyen Rinpoche have a public talk about “Buddhism and Healing from 7 pm-9 pm with a silent auction starting at 6:00 pm.  Anyen Rinpoche is a teacher of Buddhism from the high mountains of Arndo, Tibet.  He comes from an unbroken lineage of heart students who have received their uncommon lineage of the Longchen Nyingthig with an introduction to Dzogchen directly from the master Patrul Rinpoche..

Rinpoche resides in Denver, CO and teaches in The US, Canada and worldwide.  He has written 5 books, with the most recent one called “Tibetan Yoga of Breath”.  His sense of wisdom, humor and insight are extraordinary.  When teaching he speaks with such clarity you can’t help but understand even extremely difficult ideas.

Medicine Buddha Empowerment is a special Buddhist blessing ceremony that empowers you to empowereffectively do the meditation practice.  Medicine Buddha lets us practice to bring healing energy to ourselves and to others suffering everywhere. By focusing on this practice not only do we increase our compassion, love and our ability to benefit others, we also touch each other directly through the power of this sadhana.  If you would like to participate in the retreat, it is important that you attend the empowerment on Friday night.

 

christineOn Saturday night, May 14, Orgyen Khamdroling Vermont will be presenting a free soprano performance by Christine Suits from 7 pm – 9 pm with a silent auction starting at 6:00 pm.  Christine has been called “America’s next great lyric coloratura” by Romanian diva Virginia Zeani.  She has sung with Opera Saratoga, Manhattan Opera Studio, Opera Festival di Roma and Vero Beach Opera just to name a few.  Christine is also a student of Anyen Rinpoche.

The program fee includes teachings, text and Vegetarian breakfast, lunch and refreshments.  The fee is a sliding scale of $350-$300 and is non-refundable.
