The dairy farm of David and Charlene Rooney of Mud City, Morristown, has been selected as the face of October 2011 in the Horizon Organic calendar, says Lamoille County’s News And Citizen. They were chosen for inclusion in the 20th edition of the company’s calendar which, along with its organic dairy products, is distributed nationwide. Horizon Organic selects 12 of their more than 600 family farmers for the calendar. Siri Rooney said they had submitted photos in previous years, but this was the first time a photographer actually came to the farm. This is the third generation of the Rooney family to occupy the land. The main photo shows a four-legged member of the farm, along with smaller photos of family members.
