Vermonters soon will be seeing a new participant in their parades and events, says the Rutland Herald. It’s the dairy mascot who will be entertaining kids and adults, while spreading the word about the importance of dairy to our diets and to Vermont. "The dairy mascot is a fun and unique way to get kids and adults to think about the importance of the dairy industry in our state economically," said Vermont Agriculture Secretary Roger Allbee. Not only can you check out the mascot, you have an opportunity to help select her name. Simply click to www.vermontagriculture.com and choose from among Buttercup, Clover, and Daisy. They sound so much more sophisticated than Bessie, don’t you think?
