Amy Kolb Noyes of Wolcott strongly believes natural products are just as good as store-bought cleaning products and has put her conviction in print, said the Stowe Reporter. Amy recently published a book titled “Nontoxic Housekeeping,” published by Vermont’s Chelsea Green Publishing and available in many local bookstores. The pocket-sized guide offers tips and nontoxic cleaning solutions for every room in your house. She also includes a chapter featuring 10 “recipes” for homemade cleaning products. Amy did extensive research and tested all the tips and recipes included in the book. “I got ideas from a lot of different places,” she said. Most ingredients, such as baking soda, salt, vinegar and lemon, can be found at the supermarket; others like essential oils and glycerin can be found at local health food stores. It’s good to know we can be clean and natural when wielding those cleaning rags.
