If you think olive oil comes from the grocery store and is all pretty much the same, you really need to visit Olive & Ives at 4973 Main Street in Manchester, Vermont. The store’s owner, Melissa Cochran, thought that way too until a friend introduced her to the delicious difference between oils from different olives or different areas of the world. That experience was the moment in which the Olive & Ives concept was born. With the current interest in olive oil because of its health benefits, the time was right to promote these wonderful oils to the public.
Melissa’s passion led to the opening of Olive & Ives last year. Focusing on custom-crafted olive oils and vinegars, the store also offers specialty sea salts and other gourmet products. If you are a person who appreciates good food, you owe yourself a visit to Olive & Ives. Not sure how to pair the oils and vinegars? The store staff will offer suggestions. Wake up a simple salad or try something truly different like lavender balsamic roasted pears with raspberries and vanilla ice cream!
For a gift that is truly unusual, pick up a gift basket from Olive & Ives. Or stock up on oils and vinegars for your own kitchen. Visit during Manchester Sidewalk Sale days, August 4-7, for special offers.
