Travels with Bubbie

Oy Vay

That’s what my Jewish friends say instead of “Oh My G-d” when they do something boneheaded… which of course is exactly what I did… something boneheaded! I went down to my new beau’s home to celebrate my birthday a week late. It was a nice day of making homemade bread, putting dinner in the crock, taking a hike with the dogs, a nice fire in the fireplace, and football. Sounds divine right? Well wait, you haven’t heard the boneheaded move I pulled yet.

I decided that I wanted a glass of wine, nothing wrong with that except that I don’t drink much anymore. I asked for a bit of juice in my white wine, and by doing that I pretty much masked the taste of the wine and preceded to have quite a few of these tasty drinks, too many in fact, until I knew that I had to eat and promptly go to bed leaving my new beau to watch football and the beautiful fire in the fireplace all by himself… again! Now I ask you, can you get anymore boneheaded than that? Bubbie’s son, Mark, wants to know just why this guy is still with me… I swear I don’t have a good answer to that one, but I’m mighty glad that he is… one of these days I might actually get it right!!

Today was 60-something degrees outside… beautiful! But not beautiful enough to get Bubbie any further than her Bonebuilders class and lunch at the town hall. I have been told that tomorrow will be just as warm so I am going to round up a bunch of the ol’ gals and take a ride to nowhere in particular… some good stories should come out of that for sure!

Ciao for now… Bubbie & Me
