PIE IN THE INNAUGURAL SKY

by Craig Altschul

Cindy Logan, who runs the Red Fox Inn in Bondville, was a part of the inaugural celebrations in Washington, said The Manchester Journal. She hand-delivered 400 of her Ma Bean’s Apple Pies that were served at the New England Inaugural Ball Jan. 18. Vermont State Senator Patrick Leahy was instrumental in earning her pie a place on the inaugural table. Logan is no stranger to praise, having been voted the Best Pie in Vermont by Yankee Magazine, and having earned a place on Boston’s Abe & Louie’s Steakhouse dessert menu. She uses fresh, local ingredients in all her pies. “I’m very excited,” Logan said. Now they can write a song about it and call it “American Pie.”
