PLAN TO SKATE 4.5 MILES AT LAKE MOREY RESORT

by Craig Altschul

There appears to be no end of active things to do in our Vermont Winter. One of those is, most certainly, ice skating. Christine Cecchetti of the Lake Morey Resort, just a mile off I-91 between White River Junction and Fairlee, tells Vermont Winter News that the resort maintains the longest skating trail in the United States. The trail runs 4.5 miles around the entire circumference of the lake. There are also several small rinks directly in front of the inn. The resort maintains a full line of skates including Nordic, figure, and hockey. The Lake Morey Resort is also home to the Vermont Pond Hockey Championships, with 64 teams competing on 12 rinks for the Golden Sap Bucket Trophy. Dates are Jan. 28-29. Looks like it’s time to glide.
