Middle school students in Bennington are learning and enjoying their summer vacation at the same time, all because of The Mosaic Summer Program. The first-year program offers a variety of activities, including ceramics, cooking, outdoor exploration and garden studies, book club, and dance, said The Bennington Banner, Ceramics student Louci Schultz summed up her experience: “It’s something I always wanted to learn to do. But it’s really messy.” Cooking class had its fans, too, as students baked bread, brownies, and breakfast cookies. “They looked gross but they tasted good,” said Mckayla Hutwelker. Everyone seemed to be having fun even if the end result wasn’t ready for prime time.
