Fall Foliage

THE LEAVES THEY ARE A CHANGIN’

by Craig Altschul

OK, so it’s fall in Vermont. Everybody knows what that means. The leaves on our trees put on a color show that often makes Fourth of July fireworks shows look dull. You need to be here in the Green Mountains as we morph inexorably from summer to winter. We call it fall. You’ll fall for it too.

If you haven’t already, Subscribe to our free monthly newsletter for a chance to win a Vermont Getaway. September’s winner was Rustie from New York. She received a $500 gift certificate from the Deer Meadow Inn in Vermont’s Mad River Valley in the town of Warren. If Rustie comes this fall, she’ll enjoy fly-fishing in two well-stocked ponds, plus lessons from a former Orvis pro. Winter brings cross-country skiing through the meadows. Three gracious, antique-filled guest rooms are available. Be sure to register. You could be next to win.
