St. Michael’s College in Burlington gives the words “senior prom” a whole new meaning. Students from the college recently hosted area seniors for the 20th annual Senior Prom. It was held on the school’s campus. About 50 senior citizens from Ethan Allen Nursing Home, Pillsbury Manor, Burlington Health and Rehab Center, Milton Senior Center, Starr Farm, and others joined the 40 students. The crowd did what most prom-goers do: dine and dance. While the Big Band musical selections were probably not what you’d hear at today’s prom, the enjoyment of the experience was the same. The Senior Prom is sponsored annually by MOVE, Mobilization of Volunteer Efforts, one of St. Michael’s most popular student organizations, according to the Burlington Free Press. Isn’t it nice to know you can attend your senior prom at a later time, even if you missed your first one.
