It’s official… the conversations at the weekly luncheon at the Manchester Town Hall have taken a dramatic turn to crazy land. Last Thursday, you’ll recall, we discussed “Spotted Dick” and today we talked about “Toad in the Hole” … another British delicacy. I have a theory about this… the food is so bad over there that they have to come up with funny names to make it more appealing! My friend Audrey was having a smashing good time making subtle innuendos regarding these two dishes. Since “Toad in the Hole” is an entree, Yorkshire pudding with Sausages, you can have that first and then follow it up with a bit of “Spotted Dick” for dessert. I am still waiting on a recipe for this “Spotted Dick.” I am then going to make it and bring it to the luncheon so everyone can have a piece… of “Spotted Dick” that is.
