TRUCK’EN ON HOME

by Craig Altschul

The Giard family of Bridport thought they had lost their cat, Trucker, forever after their house burned down three years ago. They also lost four other cats and a parrot. Shirley and Harold contacted all the usual sources to find missing animals, but to no avail. Then, a Christmas miracle. Shirley Giard saw something darting off her front porch, said the Addison Independent, a few weeks before Christmas. The sighting was confirmed by her daughter. Trucker’s appearance also was confirmed by their dog Lexi, who recognized him. The Giards often thought about getting another cat, but never found one that felt just right. Now they can stop looking. Trucker’s glad he’s back home too and has not left the house since his return. Who knows, maybe the miracle will bring home the other cats and parrot.
