by Craig Altschul

The 10th annual Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer at Stratton Mountain recently raised over $91,500 – and still counting – for the VT/NH Affiliate of Susan G. Komen. Seventy-five percent goes toward local breast cancer education, treatment and screening programs; the balance to national research. Participants numbered 849, some of whom were on four legs, representing all ages, as well as veterans and first timers. The Sun Bowl venue was all in pink for the occasion. Brenda Estella, a breast cancer survivor, raised $7,525, the largest amount for an individual fundraiser, breaking her record amount of $5,903 raised last year. Cook with Love was the winner in the team division raising a total of $14,803.
