VERMONTER MAKES THE BELL TOLLS AT STOCK EXCHANGE

by Craig Altschul

Bennington native Katelyn Pembroke had the opportunity to ring the opening bell at the New York. Stock Exchange recently, said the Bennington Banner. She joins a long list of politicians, celebrities, and executives who were past bell ringers. “It was pretty amazing,” Katelyn said. “The actual bell’s very loud, and there were tons of cameras flashing and we were on national TV.” Why Katelyn? She is the president of Northeastern University’s College of Business Administration’s Finance and Investment Club. She is a college senior majoring in finance and marketing, and interviewing for a position in the financial sector. Katelyn’s conversations with people at the Exchange indicated a “pretty good attitude,” despite the current economic climate. I wonder if she can put that experience on her resume? It might ring a bell with someone she met.
