14The Stowe Free Library has been recognized in the Feb. issue of The Library Journal, a professional journal for librarians, for its service to the community. It was one of 256 libraries who received a star rating out of 7,115 libraries nationwide, said Stowe Today. Only four other Vermont libraries – Shelburne Memorial Library, Fairfax Community Library, Lincoln Library and Craftsbury Public Library – received star ratings. Factors affecting library service include location and demographics, organization and funding, and leadership and management, according to the article. “It’s not really about how much money you spend,” said library Director Stephanie Chase. “It’s about the level of service you provide.” Stop by and congratulate them for a job well done.
